In the second session of the “Expert Talk Series: In the Shadow of the Pandemic - Fast Forward to Industry 4.0”, Unilab Foundation, through the STEM Leadership Alliance, in partnership with the Makati Business Club brought together industry leaders from the government, business, and education sectors to discuss the latest data and case studies on the Advanced Manufacturing sector amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Professor Peter Schott, Juan Trippe Professor of Economics at the Yale School of Management, introduced “New Perspectives on the US Manufacturing Industry” and delved into the interconnectedness of trade and technology and its impact on the global value chain. With the increase of non-manufacturing employment due the emergence of technology adoption in various industries, the need to upskill current and future workforce becomes evident.

Professor Schott is a three-time winner of the Yale Management School Teaching Awards, is currently an Associate Editor of the American Economic Review, and the Executive Director of the Yale Branch of the New York Federal Statistical Research Data Center.
The third session of the Expert Talk Series will tackle How Today's Biggest Trends Will Collide and Reshape the Future of Everything.
