Expert Talk Series: Session 3

The third session of the UNILAB-MBC Expert Talk Series: In the Shadow of the Pandemic - Fast Forward to Industry 4.0 zeroed in on the fundamental trends that will reshape the landscape of policy, business, education, and industries.

 

The event was welcomed by Ms. Clarissa Segismundo, the Education Programs Lead of Microsoft PH. As the current Chairperson of the STEM Leadership Alliance - Philippines, Ms. Segismundo highlighted the importance of fostering STEM integration across GIE sectors for the upskilling of current and future workforce. SLA-PH continues to serve as an enabling organization and the Expert Talk Series elevates this Industry 4.0 by investing in discussions around STEM towards relevant post-pandemic recovery.

 

Professor Mauro Guillen shared the findings discussed in his book, 2030 How Today’s Biggest Trends Will Collide and Reshape the Future of Everything, and the importance of population, economic, and technological trends which are fundamental to understanding labor, consumer, and financial markets. The current COVID-19 crisis accelerates these trends, and provides us significant insights of the future markets.

Professor Guillen is a Dr. Felix Zandman Professor of International Management at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He was awarded the Aspen Institute's Faculty Pioneer Award and the Wharton MBC Core Teaching Award. He was also the winner of the IV Fundación Banco Herrero Prize, awarded annually to the best Spanish social scientist under the age of 40.
