SLA-PH’s Statement of Purpose is to be the prime thought leader in bridging the STEM divide through data driven policy and impactful programs.
Our History
With the ongoing issues in STEM education in the country such as underperformance in international assessments tests, low STEM enrollment, poor female representation in higher education, lack of STEM professionals, and skills mismatch of the workforce, the Unilab Foundation convened the STEM Leadership Alliance-PH (SLA-PH) in 2019. Bearing in mind the need for policy crafting and recommendations on STEM education for the nation, the SLA-PH reckoned the need to interface with government agencies and create venues for policy discussion and influence. Hence, SLA-PH was established to strengthen linkages among GIE to provide access to resources, improve quality of education, and develop advocacy towards a STEM-ready workforce.

Our Founding Members
Founding Members are Member Organizations that have been selected based on their support and involvement with the Alliance prior to its commencement. They are primarily entities that hail from the industry and corporate
Foundations as well as non-government organizations. As pioneering organizations, Founding Members developed the governance manual and continuously ensure that the Alliance’s organizational policies and structures are in place.
